Olaf is another one of our homebred sporthorse colts. On the top side he has phenomenal POA bloodlines (with close relation to world champion ponies) which explains his proclivity for athleticism and endurance. He’s out of a Haflinger mare and he has her to thank for his blocky build and “fat on air” metabolism! This colt is truly the best of both worlds in every way. He’s been raised the way a horse should and gets along in a herd setting with all manner of equine and other mixed livestock. Olaf participated in our Heritage Colt Classic training competition with trainer Anna Powell of Spring Valley Farm and he missed 1st place by less than one point. He will tackle any obstacle with gusto, from teeter totters and water boxes to stairs and tarps. This guy is brave and wicked intelligent. He’s been under saddle with Anna since May of this year and man, how far he’s come already. He rides in a sidepull hackamore or he’ll carry a bit, he sidepasses beautifully, and has the beginnings of a HUGE stop! He is very soft, kind, and the handle on him is better than horses 5x his age. This colt will really tuck his hindquarters for you and has been started on rollbacks, etc.. we’ve used him on the farm to sort cows and he really rocks the trail rides! Olaf crosses water, climbs embankments, doesn’t bat an eye at all manner of industrial machinery, and truly is the “all purpose pony”! He is sound as they come, never had an ill or off day (only one owner since birth!), has had the best of care, and is ready to be an asset to the equine community in every way.
